Finding Dory-A Teaching Opportunity

“When something is too hard…There is always another way.”~Charlie (Dory’s Dad)

I have found myself quoting this recently, not exactly the same but as “There’s ALWAYS a way.” My four year old has become a bit too negative towards her abilities to do things. She constantly says “I can’t do it mom.” At first I kept telling her, “just keep trying” she would become frustrated and give up.

One night as we were watching Finding Dory, for the a millionth time, it hit me, I can use Charlie’s teaching.

Every time my 4 year old says “I can’t do it mommy” I reply with “remember what Dory says, there’s always a way.” Her frustration immediately turns into a smile. She even repeats it “There’s always a way.” Every time I remember to quote the movie, she ALWAYS finds a way, smile and all.

I would like to think that I am slowly teaching her to be positive and that there’s absolutely NOTHING she cannot do.

I definitely need to apply it to my own self.

Happy Thursday Luvs!!
